Sexing Salmon Favorelle Chicks!

Hello! I'm new to the forum thing, but figured this would be a great first post!
I recently got my first Salmon Favorelle chick but they were not sexed. Any tips or things to look for? I will post a picture when i get down there! Thinking i got a roo, but I only got one so i don't have another to compare it to!

If it has large patches of black, it is a cockerel. Post pics to be sure.

Welcome. Generally people can start telling by 4-8 weeks of age by a photo. Hopefully you can share some.

They are pretty dark. Sometimes pullets can be darker. You may want to wait another 2-4 weeks.

@21hens-incharge , what's your thoughts?

Darker or lighter salmon (to a brownish) colored feathers are female. Any black feathering, they are male. Look up pics of adult SF, and the coloring is vastly different between M/F.

How is its temperment? Is he your only? I have an Olive Egger roo right now, he actually looks very similar to yours just no beard and a green tail! Big tough guy lol

Uh... he's an ...... It's not typical of the breed I'm told.
I have an Ameracauna cockerel too. The SF rides herd on that boy.
