Sexing Silkie Game

Silkies are tricky. My roo got a big comb at 4 weeks. But I’ve had boys sneak past and show up way later. I’ve even had some that look like girls but crow. Never developed streamers.

Another question, birds 1 and 2 are all black except for a little white under their chin. What is that coloring called? Most splash ones I have seen have the lighter color as their main color.

Boy silkies are hard. This is a 6 week old that I was sure was a hen, I’m guessing rooster now lol. Still no crowing and still sits low like a hen, what do you think?

Debwhitt,
From my vast experience (aka this post) push his hair back and see it the is a comb :) But the picture looks like he has a comb to me. The best bet, wait for Alleyschicks to come back on, she has been able to answer every question I have had.

Thank you! This comb and tiny waddles came in like a week ago, they are very tricky
