I can tell by its upright stance and the shape of its tail

Oh thankyou!

You have just saved me a 4 hr round trip for something I wouldnt have been able to keep.

It looks like a wheaton color of the Blue laced reds. Can you get head shots? It's legs do look thick, but for a wyandotte-it's way to early to tell gender. THey are really slow to develop and can fool ya.

I let the seller know that I wasnt willing to take the risk and buy it, just in case.

But since he was planning on retaining it anyway if I didnt buy it, he said he would let me know in a few weeks if it turns out to be a pullet

So I guess I will get some pictures in a few more weeks and see what happens.

Thanks so much for your responses, very much appreciated and a nice welcome to the forum.

That is good. 4 weeks is a bit young to be sure on the sex, and I have never found the stance method to be reliable. From my perspective, the chick just looks curious and a bit nervous, probably a new situation/environment. Most of my chicks got upset by the camera.

Wow.. Yeah, that's not a wyandotte at all!

Why is it that you want a wyandotte anyways? Is it just for looks? If it's for temperament, my girl is somewhat wild, and from others I've heard, they have wild ones as well. They are extremely beautiful though!

Here's my girl Dott

You can get this lacing in other breeds as well. Like Cochin. Cochins are very friendly. I have three girls

not all wyandottes are laced, but I would check back with the seller in a few weeks for updates on color and gender...I didn't know wyandottes came in a color like that? It doesn't look like a laced bird at all.
