SOOO! Sexlink experts! Can a Lakenvelder be used as a rooster over slow feathering breed hens to create feather sexable chicks? essentially what i am asking is, are Lakenvelder rapid feathering?

I think most mediterainian class breeds like them are rapid feathering so it may work, but also remember you can use a Golden Lakenvelder roo on a Silver breed of hens and get color sexable chicks. Same with breeding either color of Lakenvelder roos on Barred hens to make Black Sexlinks.

Hello everyone! How's everyone day been today?

My neighbor orders 500 black stars and red stars from McMurray every other year, and they are awesome birds, great layers, big brown eggs, and are great at free ranging. Im getting some myself this year because of seeing how nice these birds are.

Ive ordered from McMurray on and off for the last 20 years, they are great.

Funny thing is i JUST got the McMurray catalog and was looking at the Black Stars - thank you for the info!
