Sexlink Thread- Pictures and Discussion

EE's are a mix breed of any one breed, plus a bird that had a blue laying gene (usually some form of amerucana). A sex-link is two differant breeds/or colors of breed, that when mixed their chicks have specific color based on gender (ie white male chicks and colored female chicks). IF you choose the correct colors of the two parent EE's and no hidden gene traits are there (since they are already mixed a big gamble) you can produce sex linked chicks. But you are more likely to be successful if you start w/ two pure bred birds less likely to have hidden traits, alot more likely to produce consistant results.

I am new and chicken genetics tends to give me a headache so if what I've said is wrong feel free to correct.

I believe you mean Ameraucana ( she has a tail and beard right? ) But either way, no regular Wheaten is gold gened and wouldnt work. If you had a Silver Wheaten hen like a Salmon Faverolle, then that would work but no a Gold Wheaten like in Ameraucanas.

Araucana is different from ameraucana. Though they are sister breeds.

Lily layed an egg in my hand today.

RAREROO, have you gotten any more SLs since your first post here?
