SF 7 weeks - Pullet or Roo

I could potentially be wrong, and I hope I am. :) It's just, normally, Salmon Faverolles cockerels are the ones who feather in black on the breast. Pullets generally (and technically should) exhibit white/salmon. However, some hatchery-quality females turn out so dark it's difficult to distinguish the two genders.

I had a little roo that came with this group as well as another female. The roo looked different. When they were 2 weeks, he was taller than the pullets and had dark black and brown wings. I have since given him and one of the pullets to a friend. So I'm hoping you are wrong too. Lol. As I do not want a Roo.

SF's are reputed to be very slow to mature and don't show much comb development until laying age, around 7 months. Might check out the thread "Salmon Faverolles slow to Mature?" on this forum for more info.

Totally understand. :p

Unfortunately, wing color usually has little to do with gender on these guys....it's the breast you need to watch. Anticipating someone else will chime in after you provided more pics of suspect chook. :) @keesmom is really the one who knows her Favs.
