sFred the rooster is sick

This morning I noticed when my rooster tried to crow and he sounded horrible! My husband and I moved him away from the flock and started giving him mediated food. He has a clear discharge coming from his nose and it does smell. We are new with chickens and no clue what to do

( we love Fred like a family member any help would be great!!

I'm thinking Infection Coryza because of the runny smelly discharge from nose and hoarseness. You need to settle on some antibiotics quick:

So anyway, go down to the farm supply and get some. Ask for someone knowledgeable if they have one (on chickens). Alot of folks recommend Tylan here but don't take anyone's word for it, read the label!

Thanks so much!! I started him on antibiotics... I am really heart broken about what we might have to do. I never thought I would ever get attached to chickens

I had some sick birds last week and thought it might be Coryza. This website and its charts were very helpful. Might help you now and in the future, too.
