shade ideas for run

Quote:
On our coop , hubby designed 2 sides ( bottom section ) 1/2 way on hinges and above that is chicken wire for full ventilaton . When we have to clean out the coop , he opens the bottom hinged section . PLENTY of ventilation . With the heat we have here in South Louisiana , sure am glad he thought of this . COOP is built on cinder blocks ( about 2 ft. tall ) and attached FULL run . COOP is 8 x 12 and run is 12 x 32 . That way chickens can GO under the coop for shaded area and out of the rain .....
He trenched whole perimeter of the coop and run about 24 inches deep and buried wire .

Our tarps don't. We have no problems with them. They go across the top and down one side, leaving another side and part of the top for ventilation. The turkeys always sleep there, under the shady tarps

You need Shade Cloth? Go by any large trucking company, ask them if you can have thier "OLD" TARPS, Most are made of a 80% fabric, and you can easily use the bits and pieces. I have seen trucking companies toss that in the trash. TISK TISK.

What could a BYCer do with a 50 foot long beat up old load covering tarp.

Gravel trucks, end dumps, grain haulers, etc....

call and find out.

Bettcha a couple dozen cookies you could get um really cheap!!

ALSO Vegitable COOLERS have old tarps, Get a number to call so you can call. And GIVE THEM YOUR NUMBER so when their tarps tear or get trashed they can call you.

Best to you
JACK
