I think she was unwrapping her tail. Poor Abby still seems a bit dazed. I haven't really seen her interact with the foal, at all, except for the one time, when she shied away. Hope she's ok.

she was tying it up off the floor. I have seen other people do this with their horses after they foal so they don't step on it or cause bacteria to travel up and into her I suppose.

that might have been a shot of oxytocin to get the afterbirth out faster, but really I don't know. I have also known people to give horses and even dogs shots of B12 right after birth just to replenish and give strength.
