still settling into their roles then; they are probably not ready yet to really fight - if you're lucky, through this sort of probing and testing, one will be happy to play sub, and they'll be able to rub along together peacefully, unless and until the one that plays dom meets with some misfortune and the one that plays sub needs to step up then.
For several months Joel has been the top cockerel, while Samuel has been subservient. This was a sudden switch that I had not anticipated.

Appreciate the input. While this is not my first flock, my previous experience was about 30 years ago, of which I don't recall much.
 
Two hours today. Cold, 4C, dry and quite sunny.
Carbon has worms again,:rolleyes: If she would just eat out of the trays rather than throwing it on the ground, kicking it about anf then eating it, I'm sure this would be less of a problem.
I'm going to use Panacur as a dewormer this time.
Dig did mate Mow today. Henry intervened, but too late. Nothing too violent, just a couple of warning pecks.
Dig is very pleased with his crow.

Dig has decided part of his job is to chase crows and doves away. He's waitng for the crow on top of the cage to come down.

It is supposed to drop into the teens tonight in the upstate. It was a little nippy out when I went down to tuck them in. They seemed to sense that it was going to be colder than normal and headed off to roost about an hour early. They always roost as close to each other as possible, anyway.

How is your husband doing?
