Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

further to the last, I am, however, up to date with Community Payback Orders :D

For those who don't know it, this is very British humour. You have been warned.

edited to add: and it's set on an allotment in Bristol, so could hardly be more appropriate for Shad's thread!!!
BBC message: BBC iPlayer only works in the UK. Sorry, it’s due to rights issues.

Have to wait till our TV station buys it.

An odd day. I couldn't go to the field this morning. I spent the afternoon there from around 1pm with a half hour break for tea in the village.

I took them some blueberries and ham for supper.

 I took enough to make sure everybody got one. Giving them directly to the chicks would not only be difficult but frowned upon by all. I give the blueberries to Fret. This isn't a problem. Of course she puts the blueberry on the ground and calls the chicks. She's instantly mobbed by Mow and Carbon.
One of the chicks did get one and set off with it in its beak hell for leather with the other three chicks, Carbon and Mow tearing along behind Fret bustled along behind.
The chicks kept the blueberry. It did really well. I particulalry liked the rush through the gap between a brick and the fence. A neat manoeuvre that shook Mow and a couple of chicks of its tail.

There are fewer dad with chicks than mum with chicks pictures I have no doubt. Quite lucky to get these shots.
Dad time.

Your description of the blueberry chase made me laugh.

And I love the dad time photos. Good boy, Henry!

You can get it in the US via something called BBC Sounds. Both a website and an app.
I lied. Well not intentionally. Turns out what I get on BBC Sounds is sort of a spin off. Not the real series.
It is however available on Amazon and free with Amazon Prime.
