An odd day. I couldn't go to the field this morning. I spent the afternoon there from around 1pm with a half hour break for tea in the village.
I took them some blueberries and ham for supper.

I took enough to make sure everybody got one. Giving them directly to the chicks would not only be difficult but frowned upon by all. I give the blueberries to Fret. This isn't a problem. Of course she puts the blueberry on the ground and calls the chicks. She's instantly mobbed by Mow and Carbon.
One of the chicks did get one and set off with it in its beak hell for leather with the other three chicks, Carbon and Mow tearing along behind Fret bustled along behind.
The chicks kept the blueberry. It did really well. I particulalry liked the rush through the gap between a brick and the fence. A neat manoeuvre that shook Mow and a couple of chicks of its tail.

There are fewer dad with chicks than mum with chicks pictures I have no doubt. Quite lucky to get these shots.
Dad time.
