One and a half hours today. A bit warmer than yesterday but windier which the chickens don't like.

My ladies were hanging out in the coop yesterday, but came running when I went in with chickie snack in the mid-afternoon.

I have the heated water bowl hooked up and plugged in now. Yeah, it's winter.

I finished cooking turkey bone broth, and strained out the bones and bits of meat. I picked out a cup of meat, no gristle or bones, put it aside for the flock. The bones, gristle, and rest of the meat tidbits were placed by the edge of the woods. I noticed one of the abandoned strays waiting for me to leave, poor thing.

The flock really appreciated the turkey tidbits. After it was all gone Martha started pecking my skirt...no, it wasn't for attention, she'd spotted a couple tiny bits of meat that were on my skirt's hem area, and she was picking them off!

Two hours today. Damp and windy at 13C.
Fret has a feather growing on the underside of her left foot! Not sure what if anything needs to be done about it. It was I think giving some discomfort but now the feather has grown a bit it just bends under her foot when she walking. It's a new one on me!
The bug that's been trying to make life a misery is on it's way out at last.
