Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

Freezing cold with 30mph wind gusts, rain sleet and a damp mist early evening. One and a half rather cold hours.
Henry looked better than he did yesterday but still not his usual self. He's droppings have solids, the stain is from yesterday and he ate a reasonable amount today.
Nobody really wanted to leave the coop extension. They all did come out far enough to get some grass and fifteen minutes forage. The only one who kept coming back out was Tull who is laying eggs.

3C, drizzle and later mist. Everyone came out onto the field for an hour and half. Henry seems to have recovered. I wonder what it was he ate, or drank assuming reasonably that was the cause of his illness.
Tull is still the last to roost. She stays out foraging for as long as possible and then sits on the coop extension roost bar until I usher her into the coop.
I think she's getting less bossy with Sylph.
Hopefully in a couple of weeks time the average daytime temperature will reach 6C and above which will make life a bit easier for all.

So glad Henry appears to be better!

Great to hear about Henry. His comb and color look good. Wonder if he found something funky in that compost pile.
