Three hours today. Warmer than of late at around 12C.
Henry went on to the field of his own volition today. He's much more active out of the run. I've got one of the field members who walk their dog past the field most mornings to check on whether Henry is out of the coop in the mornings. he was this mornings and the person who checked texted me saying he was just standing in the run looking tired and sick.

He did help the hens forage for a wile and ate a very small amount of stuff he dug up. I suppose he spent an hour and a half out on the field but came back to roost while I was cleaning up.

I gave him some Ibuprofene sort of hidden in a few blueberries and he ate a few pieces of cooked steak which I saved from last nights dinner. Soft food he accepts more readily than grains etc but I can see he's having some difficulty swallowing.

The hens stayed out for the full three hours and once Henry had gone to roost I took over as watchman.

Shad, I think you’ve posted this recently, but I don’t remember: how old do you think Henry is? I know he was already there when you discovered the allotment flock.
