I know you like this look, but to me it looks all wrong - the feathers are on the legs and feet instead of the neck. Bit like a bald man with a beard, has his head on upside down

Got a problem here. C noticed this one was limping and tried washing her legs in water. It looks like the a section of scales got either knocked off or scrubbed off.
I've dosed her with Ivermectin. I also disinfected the area with Chlorhexedine and sprayed the feet and legs with Permethrin.
Something like this can become serious very quickly because of infection setting in.
I'll get some Vaseline on her legs later today.
The SLM isn't that bad. It's the fact that a large chunk of scales have been removed that is the main problem.

Really excited about this.
That is a broody Ex Battery hen. She's not full on broody but she's thinking about it. She stayed on the eggs overnight.

Fret is also having another go at being broody.

Btw, people here have been telling us not to feed baby chick starter but to mash breadcrumbs with boiled eggs. Any informed opinion ?

Informed? Maybe not but I don't think that would be a balanced diet for a chick.
Sounds like something that YouTube chicken lady would put out. The one that says feed the hens bread and cracked corn and they will lay every day.

You are exactly right, but not with my chickens.

You took the words right off of my fingers!!! Go eat a vole or a rabbit or something, stay the heck away from my chickens!!!!
