You may have noticed in the roosting pictures that the majority of the hens face outwards when roosting.
I have no idea why this is?

I don't really know, but assume that they perceive any danger will come through the pop door. Better to be pointed opposite to get away, and presenting tail feathers rather than head to it?

Love my roosters, all 11 or 12 but this might be a good thing even though I don't agree with genetic tinkering in any form.

Wow, as a former molecular biologist who is also cery concerned about the issue, this is very interesting! Now if they could also require better loving conditions for those egg laying hens, as well…

None of my hens are laying right now. I used egg replacer in my Christmas cookies snd they were still delicious, even without real egg.
