Love Banksy too. Went to an exhibition last winter in Germany with photos, explanations and where lots of his art was recreated.
I cant believe there is just one person (nowadays) creating all this images. It’s too diverse.

Great way to express how enormous cruise boats are. Only missed a painting on top of the chimney with the pollution and the smell of burned black oil they use in these kind of ships.

I encountered such a horrible ship once in a fjord in Norway at a very small town between beautiful mountains.

It's interesting that the outer casing broke away rather than the spur breaking off at the leg join. I've had a few roosters and hens break off spurs due to fighting or getting struck badly on a rock or brick and they invariably break at the leg.
Those roosters that have shed cases shed without trauma as far as I've been able to tell. Maybe a slight tap in the cases of Henry and Twitch who I ma fairly certain weren't involved in any fighting at the time.
So, it's reasnable to assume that there is a point at which the case will come off rather than breaking the whole spur from the leg. It would be handy to know if there are exterior signs of imminent case shed.

There was some sign it would shed. Picture from a month ago: there's a faint line where the spur was beginning to separate.

Though it probably wasn't totally ready to come off, as evidenced by the blood on the spur underneath, and it's not the best looking new spur. It's dark colored and a little porous, like it needed more time to develop before being exposed. Doesn't seem to bother Merle, fortunately.

His brother Andre knocked off both spurs last year at the base, probably also by kicking the fence (he's the clumsy one with the suspected hip dysplasia). That's for sure a different situation. There was a lot more blood than Merle's forced shed, and Andre's spurs never grew back.

Just above freezing today. Two hours at the field with working hand warmers I'm delighted to write. I don't know how I used to manage without them. The chickens knew the rain was on it's way and headed to roost early. They know wet at these temperatures isn't a great idea.
Despite the time of year they still seem to be finding plenty to eat. Having a range of bolted greens still growing helps and with a bit of digging Henry is still turning up some bugs.
