That sounds like Janeka, at the back end at least; when in full broody mode their heads are usually pulled back into the body while the torso flattens out, though not all my broodies have adopted pancake pose.
I’ll think over it, especially because the wire crate (for the new girls, dammit!) won’t come until Wednesday. But I’ll probably break her, because (1) it’s pointless, and (2) it’s already a bit disruptive in the Nestera, even though it’s a large. (She snagged the favorite nest box, of course.

He didn't always face the wall but he faced the wall at roost time more often than not. I don't know why.
But maybe the chickens will like the seeds (not the onion, but other bolted greens)? and presumably C would be happy to donate the relevant plants to Mow and Sylph...

Our garden has gone a bit to waste this year. With everything else going on, something had to give. The stuff we planted with the chickens and turkeys in mind, is doing good, but the normal veg that I intending on preserving is a lost cause. At least I will have good seeds for next year. We need to totally revamp, I want to use cattle panels to make arches as supports for stuff and make it easier to weed and work with. We do raised beds, because I can't stand kneeling down and getting covered in stinging fire ants.
