So the public transportation buses and trains are not run by the City there?
No they're not. The city transport is from private companies. Bristol really needs an integrated transport system and that is unlikely to happen while the system is operated by private companies.

Yes for profit isn't going to cooperate with each other.

The hospital moved a mile away from me and they are on the bus route. When I was working I checked it out. Would have been over 2 hrs on 3 busses after I walked the mile. At the time it was less than a half hour to drive. Almost an hour nowadays.

My small city has good public transportation, in the sense of affordable and reliable, but it mostly uses a hub-and-spoke model, where all routes go to a central changing point.

I checked it out once. To get to an 8am class, I would have to catch a bus at a neighborhood stop at 6:45am, ride into town, and transfer to the UNCA bus, arriving about 7 minutes before class begins.

It takes me 14 minutes by car. 🤷🏼

Three hours today. 23C, still dry as a rugby players jock strap, that should leave a few searching on the net for a meaning,:D A pleasant breeze with bouts of strong sunshine.
I did some more cleaning of Mow's arse today. The dark streak from vent to belly has mostly gone. All the lumps have gone now.
Checked Mow. She's clean.

I really like that series. I haven't read them all, and I'm not reading them in order.
I finally tracked down all the novels (for once all available in the NC state library system) and re-read them in order. I thought they held up well with time.

I really hated Ellie for a long time (I thought she gave feminists a bad name, echoing the stereotypes of strident, etc.), but I finally calmed down a bit and grew to appreciate her.

I have seen most of the TV series of Dalziel and Pascoe. My husband is a fan of most British detectives. And D&P was one of the better. I enjoyed them too.
Never seen the books in our public library and I rarely buy novels.

I didn't know D&P was also a TV series. I won't bother to look for it because it'll be on a channel we don't get, and I don't have the patience to watch TV anymore. The commercials piss me off. I have to really, REALLY want to watch a show to put up with commercials.

For the news, I'll catch the headlines and I want to see the weather report. Other than that, the world can happen without me.
