Tax: my Welsummer Cornelia is looking ragged in her first molt. I know everyone else has been through this, but it's my first time. She screams and runs if I try to touch her, poor thing.

It’s painful for a chicken if you touch her when the new feathers start to grow.

I turned over the fence post offcuts that had been lying on the ground,
Slaters!

I have been leaving a few bits of wood in random areas, then moving them periodically so they get a concentrated area of crunchy live protein. They love it.

weird, mine don't seem that keen on woodlice. I have plenty because of all the cut tree stumps I leave kicking around - but the chickens just don't go for them.
