Shadrach's Ex Battery and Rescued chickens thread.

looks like Bristol's answer to the Mediterranean :D
Very nice; you must have raised the average age of the clientele a bit
Looks great indeed.
Lucky you English people don’t mind the cold. 🤣

Looks likd a real nice place to celebrate!

Two hours. It stayed dry and reasonably warm early afternoon.

Left the field to go to a bit of a do with the family celebrating the eldest cycle to France.
These pictures are of Bristol harbourside just outside the place we had booked for the evening.

I drank two Talisker single malts, got home at 11pm and went to bed. Slept like a log.:D
I love waterfronts! Even the smelly water ones.

Not a particular fan of beaches; I just like the shore.

Glad you felt good enough to celebrate 🥳

Two hours. Warmish and apart from a couple of minutes of spitting a few drops of rain, remained dry.
Sylph is showing signs of thinking about going broody. Went back to where she laid today's egg a couple of times, eating noticeably more and making found food chick calls. Her arse needs cleaning again.

I didn't get a lot of choice in the matter. It went something like "if you can get to the field you can get to the dinner.":p:confused:
I think all crazy chicken people have heard that. They don't understand the chickens are our responsibility and we'll kill ourselves to make sure they're taken care of. Dinners out are optional.
But thats quite an achievement by your daughter.

Currently getting over 3 weeks of probably Covid and then 5 days of very high fever, chills, dizziness, constant headache and food tasting like sawdust. Thought it was the flu because I'm a teacher and it's going around (test was negative). After 5 days of antiviral medicine and absolutely no improvement, I went back and was diagnosed with a bad sinus infection. So I'm hopeful now and no longer wishing someone would just shoot me and put me out of my misery.
Meanwhile DH ("You can get chickens but I don't want to have to take care of them") has done a lot of poop scooping and feeding. I've done a little but bare minimum. I hate that. I miss them.

Hope you continue to get better! That's one thing about being a teacher: whatever's going around will probably come knocking on your door soon. 🤧
