Who laid the pale egg?

Asking b/c my SS lays eggs that color
The lighter egg is from a BB OEGB (Black breasted Old English game bird) pullet. They were hatched in June 2025, and were purchased from TSC.

The current SS pullets are laying darker than their mommas. :hmm

A dry afternoon with occasional sunshine. Two and a half hours.
They came out and stayed out. They didn't venture far, mostly in the extended run but they were looking for food. Once I had done the chores I went out onto the field with them. They looked like normal chickens again and moved around the field with Glais leading and me making sure the hens followed him. Glais still isn't quite sure about how far he should venture. I expect that will come as the weather improves and he gets more time out of the coop run. They were in the coop run when I arrived, not under the coop, so that's a further encouraging sign.

Last fall, I took my chicken chair out of the run for the winter. It's plastic, and I was afraid it might crack in the cold. And that was before I had any idea that it might get down to -17°F (-27°C).

It has been very nice recently (hubby's snow is melting, boo hoo), so I found a folding chair to sit on in the run today. I was rewarded with Squeak sitting on my lap, and all the ladies hanging out nearby. What a pleasant afternoon. :)

I have a friend who is into alternative health practices. They sent me this.
We had a presentation about apitherapy/bee venom therapy. Yes, using bee stings (and other bee products, like propolis, honey, and bee bread) to treat physical problems.

It was absolutely fascinating. Yes, it was anecdote heavy, and the plural of "anecdote" is not "data." But if enough people do the same thing and have similar outcomes, the scientific community needs to start paying attention.

Tea and honey (no lemon) work well for me. I love coffee, but I drink it black, and I’m struggling with the thought of stirring honey into it.
I like tea with honey
But I never acquired a taste for coffee ☕. I have tried various times when people would say "this is the best coffee" .
