Shadrach's Lamps

Pics
I really enjoy making extravagances such as this. The problem is they need to be sold in up market art type places and it's quite difficult to get them shown. There is also the expense.
They take a long time to do.
This lamp is called Injector. All the lamps I make have names and some have themes.
The small upright section is the injector pump. The black in the base is the reservoir. The black gets pumped into the main pump body to make the engarvings on the main lamp body grow. You can see by the glass tube and the reservoir marking on the back of the pump that the pump is partially empty.
It's a bit off base.:p

That's an amazing piece of wood to make an amazing lamp. It really would grace any gallery.

I like the contrast between the hard mechanical on one side and the gentle organic on the other. 🥰

:confused:Has a slight change of direction with this one. When I was cutting the slots for the inserts (the pale rectangular pieces) a lump of wood fell out. It happens. This meant I had to cut much wider slots and my initial design idea had to change.
It's worked out rather well and the lamp will be called Totem provided no further disasters happen.

These are two I'm currently working on.
This first lamp has me quite excited. I know it looks a bit odd now but if I can get a good finish on the wood I think it may be rather a nice lamp and not a style I've done before.

This I have done before. It's going to have a tree engraved on the front. People seem to like this style with the rough back.
