Shaking head

every two seconds one of my silkie chicks is shaking its head. I believe the others are too. What is wrong?

They are 10 weeks old. They eat chick starter. They are on pine shavings and they are plenty warm.

I wish they would quit shaking their heads though. That is just not right. They did not get injured in any way. I don't see any mites.

I have heard of a few things that can cause head shaking.

One is a genetic type thing caused from the vaulted skull that silkies have.

The other is that amprolium can affect some chicks in this manner.

Or, they could have an upper respitory infection causing them to try to shake fluid from their sinuses.

I have also witnessed birds that shake their heads when nervous.
