Who the heck would wanna watch critters beat the tar out of each other when we have perfectly good hockey games?
Honestly, YUK! That's why on Animal Planet, if they find a roo they euthanize it. Because of all the illegal cockfightings. And the same with the "pitbulls".
Sad state of affairs.
The truly sad thing is that the animals are still being killed. Here these organizations are berating those that "abuse" these animals, yet the animals are taken away and still killed. Kinda ironic...
But at least they are no longer fighting and getting injured. Plus with the fighting dogs at least it's impossible to teach them how to be safe family pets.
(but I will add I don't take what organization (or PETA) as truth until a lot of my own research. So I would want to see what is realy in these books and magazines first. )
I hate to say this, but I have to. The underlying issue here is not animal cruelty, although I personally find any form of animal fighting to be utterly abhorrent.
The fact is that we have freedom of the press in this country, and as long as no laws are being broken with the printing of the publication, this basic right MUST be protected, or we start down a very slippery slope.
There are many publications I would like to see never make another issue, but it is not up to me or any one person to decide what others can read. That's where book burning starts - and it very rapidly escalates.
NOW THAT I SAID ALL THAT - WORK AS HARD AS YOU CAN TO ELIMINATE THESE BLOOD SPORTS! AN ADVANCED AND HUMANE CIVILIZATION SHOULD NOT CONSIDER WATCHING ANIMALS MAUL EACH OTHER TO BE ENTERTAINMENT!!!!!

I'm not a PETA fan either. I'm against their methods and even organization have yet to affiliate themselves or advertize PETA. Many large animal protection agencies are against PETA. I refuse to support anyone who supports PETA.
The organization is a very reliable resource and credible. PETA on the other hand are extremists, but their information on topics are correct. So like them or not, the info. is right...their methods need to change.
The organization lawsuit against Amazon.com is legally correct.
BTW...from what I've learned by chatting with fish and game officers, fish and game seem to kill more animals senselessly than the people they are hired to stop. So it's fish and game you want to be weary about more so than any other animal protection agency.
HSUS is in there, and some of the info on them has me not liking them.
organization raises enough money to finance animal shelters in every single state, with money to spare, yet it doesnt operate a single one anywhere.
Instead, organization spends millions on programs that seek to economically cripple meat and dairy producers; eliminate the use of animals in biomedical research labs; phase out pet breeding, zoos, and circus animal acts; and demonize hunters as crazed lunatics. organization spends $2 million each year on travel expenses alone, just keeping its multi-national agenda going.
However that being said I will not grumble at those that like them
After all being different and having different opinions makes the world way less boring *grin*
Federal offenses void certain constitutional rights, except for those in direct relation to arrest, trial, conviction and/or imprisonment.
What Amazon.com is doing is illegal (selling products that condone a federal offense) and the organization is in the process of establishing that with the courts.

I just re-read your post and had to say....
I do not agree with this. Some of their information is mis-represented and sometimes even completly fabricated. What I ment by mis-represented is that they get video that is ages old from other countries and represent it as things being done in the US here and now.
The other thing to note, both organization and PETA want to ban all animal use this includes as pets. If they where after just making sure that animals get proper care and are not abused then that would be different. However, with them wanting to take away my right to keep my cats, dog, chickens and horses then I have the obligation to speak up against that.
