My Polish have been drinking out of a pan, and pecking in the dirt, and now they have mud caked in their poof.
(I have to get a pic of this, LOL)
I have baby shampoo, how do I shampoo their poofs without getting water in their eyes and especially up their nose?

do you have a front load washing machine?? put them in on GENTLE cycle.

Marlin, I figured somewhere, somehow you would come and give me great advice. Thankyou! What a great idea!
I have a top loader with a glass top. I will just have to make sure that she doesn't get dizzy and throw up.

If it's a smaller bird you can do it either in your kitchen or bathroom sink, if not you can use your bathtub. Run warm water, hold the bird on its back and put it's crest under the water, then take soap, scrub it in, and wash it out, repeat as needed. If you don't want this to happen again you can tie their crests up with a hair tie, or if they are not show birds you can trim their crests. Good luck!
