What sort of delivery date are you contemplating? I could be interested in maybe 25, if I have time to persuade DH to pause in his various projects and make a hoop house.

Yes! I know where you live, but I had forgotten your BYC ID.

I'm thinking middle to late March, but am flexible.
Maybe beginning of April? I have vague plans for a vacation week in March, although I'm not certain that the self-employed ever get time off. Am I right that we'd be looking at about 12 weeks before processing? Oh, and where are you located?

Umm, we may have discussed processing; to the best of my knowledge, there is only one state-inspected place, and not in Bridgton. Do you know of someplace in Bridgton (yes, that's where I am). I'm sorta planning on collecting a few like-minded people to go in on costs and processing, since I'm the one with the inclination and space to grow the birds and the space for processing. I haven't pursued all the ins and outs of it, but I believe that as long as it's not retail sales, everything should be OK.
Last year, I heard about some sort of cooperative processing facility that I thought was in Bridgton. Individuals paid to have their birds processed, but also had to help out in the process. That is about the extent of my knowledge. Maybe someone else reading this will think it sounds familiar and be able to provide more details.
I had my birds processed in Biddeford (Ken's) last year. There are also processors in West Gardiner and North Berwick. I'm sure there are others around, but those are the ones that I have heard of.
