Share your pictures of Dust/Dirt Baths

Is there any particular combination of the sand, DE and ash? Equal amounts of each???? Does it matter?

In the winter, when our chickens can't get out to the dirt, I've put play sand or sand box sand (sold at the local hardware store) into a sturdy cardboard box inside the coop. They seem to get good use out of it! I added a little diatomacious (?) earth at first, but I don't think it mattered much. By the spring it was all thrown out, well used!

I had to take a sledge hammer to my old dust baths as they were getting far to deep and the hens couldn't reach their feed. In my grower pen they have made us if the covered space under the best boxes.

This was underneath my shed yesterday...kept seeing sand flinging and naturally thought it was the dogs, ha! How wrong I was, and too funny!!!

I bet the girls would love your Florida sand, but they are pretty content with what they have, too. Bath time seems to be the one time that the Wyandottes don't peck at the Orpingtons.
