These are great! When I worked in the barnyard area at a zoo, people would always tell me that our chickens were "dying". I figured out pretty quickly that this "dying" was just the chickens taking dust baths. I got a lot of blank stares from non-chickenfolk when I tried to explain that chickens take baths in the dirt and that it was normal for them to lie there with their wings extended out in the sun.
My husband was putting vinyl siding on our garage yesterday which is inside the chicken run, and they were dust-bathing right under his ladder since it was covering a prime hole. Wish I had gotten a photo now.
