Sharing nesting boxes....

We have 3 nesting boxes but today 2 pullets were sharing one at the same time. Other 2 were empty. Only 1 left an egg. There was no conflict, but just want be sure ok?

Some can have 10 chickens and all 10 may only want to use one of the many that there are

That is perfectly okay.
I have 16 hens/pullets and 3 nesting boxes and they choose to only use 2 of them

Still perfectly normal chicken behavior. Sometimes mine will do it on purpose... it is their personalities.

Yep, it's the 'Grass is greener on the other side of the fence' and 'you have it so I want it' syndromes.

My nests are 16" x 16" x 16". It is pretty common to find three hens in the same nest at the same time with the other ones empty.

Just another time that chicken TV is better than anything on cable, antenna, or satellite.

Chickens are odd...You can provide them many nest box...Majority of our hens would RATHER share a nesting box! Wait if they have too!

Yep, chickens will all want to use the same nest box no matter how many boxes you have.

I have 4 nests, each has a fake egg, I very rarely see more than on bird in a nest.
True, there may be some grousing from nearby during high traffic times, but few real squabbles.
