Thank you for all the compliments on my babies....I bought them a month ago and since then fell even more in love with the BLRW. Obviously, by the eggs I bought this month. I have been reading this thread without posting for weeks. I decided to dive in so to speak. Congrats on all of the new babies!

Now wait. Just wait a cotton pickin' second.

YOU have some of Nat's olive eggs? I don't remember seeing an olive egg auction. Ahem.

Do I have to pry olive eggs out of you, Nat? How come I say, sure you can have eggs of lemon blue cochins once they start laying and I have to get on my knees for OLIVE STINKIN' EGGS???????? Huh? I detect a double standard here somewhere. Yup. Sure do. You lousy one cent bid placer.

You goob I won the auction on here. It was the auction that ended while everyone was at work! I had to come home early then go back on the road to bid hehe. Soooooo it wasn't a one cent bid either hehehe!

........From a bidders standpoint, I also get frustrated with the 1 cent increments. Being beat by 1 cent in the last few seconds of an auction is just not fair and who wouldn't bid one or two more pennies to get what they wanted. If people are allowed to bid 1 cent then it ought to not be allowed in the last few seconds. Another site I buy and sell on handles this 'sniping' a little differently... any bids entered in the last minute of an auction automatically trigger the auction to extend another 5 minutes so that the really serious bidders have a chance to bid higher. Sometimes it extends the auctions an hour but it absoultely prevents getting sniped. Perhaps BYC could look into doing something like this.

Gosh, I do hope that does not happen!!!!!!! We would never know when an auction is actually ending.
This would be a nightmare.
Personally I like the way Ebay does it with the proxy bid up to the bid amount, since BYC will be getting rid of the one cent option on auctions.

True phage and also I know personally I have altered my work schedule to be able to get to the tail end of an auction here for eggs I want bad enough, but I'm lucky enough to be able to do that. I would love a proxy system. We all have a decent idea of what we're willing to bid. Set up a proxy system and it should take care of most of the issues I would think.

Hi Lovins,
Thats is what I said to Speckled hen (solving issues bit) . She said she would pass it on.
I think if a proxy system is what works and what we would like we should ask for it before they change it to something we do not want.

Have you seen the $$ amounts at the end of the auctions? Someone always really wants those eggs, they will probably not get them with a final bid of a penny. Unless no one else is interested.
