Good for you Carrie! You don't have to take his calls, all he needs to send you is a check. And then a check regularly thereafter. It sounds like you have given him every possible opportunity to do right by your child and he simply chooses not to.

It sounds like he just didn't want to be bothered to make the coops, or do anything at all to make it right. I think you did the right thing.

Good for you, Carrie. Now he'll wish he'd built coops!

Yah-mess with the chicken ladies again Mr-non coop builder!!! Good for you Blessed!

Carrie-it is dumb and I know the laws-It sucks-my other DD was fine and very mature at that age but we also lived in town then-I do leave her when her cousins are home next door to hang out with 12 and 16 yr olds-they hang all day-but they were all gone today:-(..Im a little over protective too so that makes it worse.

You know what gets me about the whole thing? The law was originally made because of stupid people that go out all night and leave their young children at home alone. This law does nothing to stop them, they couldn't care less. It's people like us that worry about it. Same as the child abuse laws. It was made so people who actually abuse their kids could be stopped. It doesn't stop somebody who is abusing their child, it just went haywire for the people who give their kids a swat on the butt. The intentions behind the laws are good, but it doesn't stop what causes the laws to begin with. Drives me nuts.

I know I did the right thing, and I did give him alot of opportunities to make it right. Eight years later and he still makes me nervous, but I'm not scared of him anymore. He'll find I'm not the same person now I was then. Used to be a scared little rabbit, now I'm a marshmallow if it will keep the peace, but I'm a tough marshmallow when riled.

Blessed, you eat bunnies? Cute furry little bunnies? Oh now, that's just wrong. How can you eat thumper? or Peter cottontail?

We used to have a siamese bunny. Little b****** ate every cord it could find. Would chew thru the phone cord on a daily basis. I would have been happy to eat him if he wasn't so dang small. Then last year my son wanted bunnies in the worst way. Ended up buying him 2. The first time one pooped on him, that was the end of any interest in the bunnies. At that point, I could have happily

my son. Ended up selling them to co-workers. No more bunnies in this household. And the little tyrant had the nerve to ask me for another bunny when we were at tsc a couple weeks ago. Yeah right.

So are you going to show us some pics of your work? It's only fair after all, Brindle showed her dh's work, I showed my gardens, Nat showed her house, and now you have to show your work

I had some friends with meat rabbits. They became very attached to the first litter and sold all but 2. The mother insisted the hubby do the deed on the 2 they had left. Hubby was not happy. So he did them in and did all the right prep stuff and when he rolled them in butcher paper he labled the meat packages with their names. They were never eaten.
