The spupples are doing really well and are very, exceedingly fat. I'm thinking of asking dak if pups can be
too fat!
These little guys have fat rolls on their fat rolls!
Their eyes just started opening yesterday, and they are doing little push-ups instead of just crawling around. Means they can inch worm around a lot faster!
Maggie feeds them and cleans them, but still doesn't take a lot of notice when they cry in distress. Fat Boy crawled out over my mattress and out onto the tile floor and was crying and barking away when I got out of the shower. Maggie was curled up on the mattress and just kind of looked at me like what????
So I think a foot high barrier will be going up, shortly. Maybe I can get John to rip a piece of plywood.
I'll take some pics and get them up today. Fat Boy probably weighs a couple of pounds!
It's probably Ok for now as long as they get get their legs underneath them. Don 't let it go on to long or they will be prone to OCD (osteochondritis dessicans) or the various dysplasias. Kiddee pools are good in the exercise pen. Keeps pups in for awhile and easy to disinfect. I put done newspaper then those washable acrylic lambskins.
They are on blankets and wooly pads (our name for the lambskins) so the surface has plenty of traction. They are starting to try to get their legs under them, but mostly totter for a second and fall over. Nobody is a swimmer. We can't find those pools right now 'cause of the season, and mine is only 3' across and isn't really big enough. It won't be a problem to put up a low plywood barrier.
eta when do pups generally starts walking?
