Aren't kefir grains a type of culture? Like a cheese type of thing. You add milk to make your own and drink it for probiotic reasons...I have a raw cookbook here that explains it. I'll have to dig it out.

ETA...raw "cookbook". Hmmm...should just be called raw book.
