I think some folks suspected I was blowing a little smoke when I was extolling the extremely laid back disposition of these birds. Some times I wish they were a bit more wilder, try wading through about 75 or so of these big guys to get to the back feeder. I mean if you step on say a silkie there is just a squawk and a little puff of feathers, imaging a bunch of bowling balls slowly rolling around your feet, they'll take you down if you are not carefull. They will stand right in your way, and then cuss a little when you step on their foot feathers. But all in all, I haven't found any I like better.
Im so blessed to experience these guys-thanks to you and Brindle
What an absolutely fabulous breed...laid back is mild--Ill talk to mine and they give me the sleepy eye - they fall alseep while Im talking and moving around their pen to clean! I love a little piece of Heaven in a world of loonies! Im hoping they will rub off on the others
LOL Hey I can draem can't I. They live right next to the OE pen-everyday there's 10 facesd smashed to their door squaking at me I can barely open thier pen and they are barrelling out at me and my hands!!!
I dont have many questions at this point because Im just enjoying watching them grow-but when I hatch out chicks and have them grow some-Im sure Ill be in touch quit a bit if you don't mind?
Like I've said before, in my opinion life is too short to put up with crazy chickens. They main thing with the big ones is patience, every thing is slower and takes longer, except going through feed. Feel free to get a hold of me anytime.
