You guys are so sweet!! I will miss Aunt Ann but I have already done most of my grieving when we found out about the leukemia. She set me down and told me that crying won't do anything but make me pee less and she had rather have my attention fully now when we do something versus me looking at her like a lost puppy. I can only hope I go out with as much gumption as she did.

I have never shipped birds but I do have some that I need to go thru. I have the worst time with roos. I have 3 that will attack your ankles in a heartbeat. One of them is gorgeous from Webb Acres, his comb is too red but perfect feet, feather, and fluff. I keep telling him once I get a really good roo...I may have to find out what Chinese Black Chicken tastes like.

I will get pictures this weekend and let you see what I have.

Sounds perfect!

Your aunt sounds like she did have some gumption! Good for her!

I wish I had met all of you sooner. I had 2 wonderful white silkies from webb acres that I sold to someone local last year for $5 each, just because I wasn't keeping any whites. Would have loved to sent them to you instead!

I pestered her forever for some eggs and she sent me 2. Only one developed...her name is Claudia and she is my son's pride and joy. Absolutely stunning pullet. Can't wait for her to get a little older because she is definitely show bound.

Sorry for your loss.

You know Emma, I think that time is priceless. I was primary hospice care for my grandmother who died in February and I would not trade those few months for anything on this earth. That time means SO much that you just can not understand until you go thru it.

My gram had spunk right up until the end too. She would set anyone to rights when they needed it or not.

Sure do miss her. I see her often in the nature around me - she taught me me love of nature and animals large and small.

Ann was a late addition to my life. She "ran away" to CA when she was a teenager and had a very full and adventurous life (if you ask any of her sisters) by the time she decided to move back home to be close to family.

I never fit in and she always made me feel normal. We shared books and political views and just a different way of looking at the world and people. I will miss her. She was a hell of a spades player too. Family card games will never be the same.

Here is my update - I go into lockdown on bator #1 Tuesday night.

3 B/B Cochins (the survivors from the shipping disaster!)
