I think a lot of people are being kind and everyone has spring fever. So silly. Last year lots of people were saying the blue eggs were no different than from the Ams they had or the birds were too light in color (Wheatens). I was sure curious last year...we were PM'ing back and forth. She was going to trade me some for my Lav Am eggs, but my girls weren't laying. It would be nice to see updated photos of her eggs. Her stock comes from Jean Ribbeck.

No feathers, just hair! Oh well! Is it still warm at your place? Only 20degrees here and everything is crunchy coated ice!

28 here and snow sleet & rain predicted.

Our little guys are land sharks right now. They seem to be exploring the world mouth first. Mags is really cutting back on feeding them and I have been introducing water soaked kibble, which they were kinda blah about. John offered little Blue Girl some quiche last night and she got all excited about that, so I know they are hungry. I put a little bowl of plain crunchy kibble in with them this morning, just to see what would happen, and they all started crunching kibble! At 4 weeks old! They are still pretty roly-poly so they ain't starvin'. They all have full sets of puppy teeth now. Can't imagine how that would feel on your ninnies.

What are the names in the running?

Oh, ya'll should have seen John and Blue Girl last night. We were watching a movie and she had been sleeping on his tummy bulge, so she was right under his plate when I brought him some quiche. She woke up and got all excited, so as soon as it cooled a little, John would take off a little piece of egg and put it on his bulge in front of her. She couldn't quite take it from his hand, yet. BG would proceed to eat and and smear it all over his shirt. It was too funny! Messy, but funny. John didn't seem to think a thing about it and kept giving her tiny pieces of egg. When they were done, he handed her to me for a minute, went and changed his shirt, and deposited her back on the bulge, she went back to sleep. Way cute.

So I take it the blue female will not be going far then ?

Ninnies, when the girls were little they referred to them as nibbles, "the kitten is trying to find a nibble".

OK, I have thought about this for a few hours now and have to post.

These are chicks we traded her for 2 white Silkies. Now, the Silkies are gorgeous and we ended up with a pair of them, which is great, but now I am out 3 BLRW chicks that she said she really, really wanted. She was a very nice when we met her and said she was replacing some of her older layer with the chicks. Guess I am just a little bummed.
