So I just got back from a full day of deal making. I picked up the free plywood, it's 3/4 inch so my babies will be warm this winter! Then I went out to look at the incubator the guy wanted to sell, and bought it. $200 for a GQF 1266 cabinet incubator, it's older, but very very clean, works and comes with the upgraded door with window. I didn't get the hatcher, they wanted $175 for it, and it wasn't GQF, I'm not sure what it was, but it was bulky and looked like a big waste of space, it looked like it was some sort of lab incubator that they put a hatching tray in? So now I have room for lots of eggs, but no money to buy eggs for a while

, hopefully sombody brings cheap hatching eggs to the Northern California Chickenstock.

Whew, what a day. It's payday, and I'm already broke!

any really dark ones are generally black laced, and super light are splash- blue on the other hand if more difficult. what looks blue at a young age can fade and really be splash.
:catch:
darn, my catch smiley didn't work

phage, I hope it makes it. we just amputated the broken leg from a chick, I worried I'd kill it with the anesthesia but I didn't and 1 week later, it's getting around great, they're tougher then we give them credit for.

Oh for pete's sakes....My split lav silkies are starting to hatch on day 21-I am 22 minutes away from entering day 22! I have 1 chick in brooder that will NOT shut it...I keep looking in bator wondering how much longer it will be for a mate to quiet it down theres only 1 pip in there:-(

Im almost tempted to put the 1 small BLRW chick in with it to see what happens but then I dont want that chick isolated from its siblings and get picked on when I go to put it back:-(
