I have good news. the person I swapped eggs with that I got the showgirl instead of a silkie is replacing the eggs. I will still be leary of getting more showgirls but I feel I have to chance it. hopefully better luck this time.

I am sure those girls are having a great time!!

Well hatches are Done for last week. They did really well.

Lav splits: Out of 19 eggs 13 went to lockdown and 11 hatched, producing 4 lavs and 7 black. Funny how it is never the other way around!!!
I am pretty pleased with them. The lav chicks seem much darker than any that I have seen posted, which hopefully will give them a nice rich color. I think Nava has some of these as well.

Then out of a I think 23 eggs sent by a GREAT ebay seller I got 19 to lockdown and 16 hatched chicks. About 10 or 12 are EE and the rest polish silkie crosses.

I am soooo very distraught....

I went out to check on everyone this morning...feed them all...check on the broodies that I separated in a cage....and I find my beautiful smooth feathers frizzle broody dead.... Greg is thinking it was a snake because she was still in tact....no blood...just her head and neck slimy and matted down....she was suffocated....

RIP my sweetheart
