Cindy, I don't know if it was the MFDs that were pecking....did you have the buff brahmas with the others? Because wow...he is a pecker....haha

both of my barred NN are frizzled, one was doing the rooster fighting thing so I will probably only be keeping one

don't want any frazzles. I pulled a d'Anver out of one of the pens cuz it kept getting run over by the LF chicks in with it. I put it back in the house brooder with 7 other chicks. One of the orps from Imogene walked up and looked like he was trying to figure out what it was cuz even though the d'Anver is about 3 weeks old or more(would have to look it up) and the orp a week, the orp is twice the size and still fuzzy while the d'Anver is almost fully feathered....I also only had one d'Anver out of my recent batch hatch so the kids are calling it itty bitty cuz it's only half the size of the older d'Anver. I was hesitant because it is sooo small but didn't want it to be alone. I watched for the first day and they didn't pick on it so I left it so it wouldn't be alone. I have to downsize. I am going to make a guess as to what are pullets and roos in my ameraucana and give away the rest. Probably quite a few roos but I only need one and 2 pullets from each breeder. I may pick a third or more from some of the breeders (like Paul Smith) just to make sure I definitely have at least 2 pullets from them. I have a cool cockeral that I need to find a home for...he is a wheaten ameraucana x appenzeller spitzhauben, pretty cool looking and has a huge beard, little crest and a funky comb. I will try to get pics soon. Ok, done babbling now

wow,now I have to hunt for this thread, oh well, makes it worth it.
I have little one popping out- so far 6 blr, 1 white and one not (its a cochin mix) but pretty blue.
still more to go.
I saw some great silkie eggs in the auction 24 eggs, too many for me and hey, this is my last hatch. I need to start growing these out so I can plan what I'm keeping.

I had not planned on getting Coro/ light eggs but they were $21 for what will be dozen from a great ebay seller I have had BCM eggs from before, with about a 90% hatch rate. Last week they were $42.
Too good to miss. Coro rooster is from green fire farms.

The buff brahma was not in the OE cage. Sorry. I hope you didn't get a bunch of little buttheads. I know the MFDs were pecking the little barred cochins in the OE cage because after I took the MFDs out the cochins started growing feathers back.
