Sheesh. I should be at work already, but the chickens got out of the pen, (my fault) and I can't leave them out, so I am sitting here waiting for them to go roost. Of course I can't tell them at work, LOL. But you all understand!

Just had a lot of personal stuff happen this year. I think all is well for now. Where's the WOOD to KNOCK ON?

I got on here and tried to read some of the posts and occasionally respond to something, but I just couldn't get into the "groove".

I've been missing all ya'll!

Oh, besides the personal stuff, I had something get into my chicken pens. I lost everything I hatched this year except 2 silkies (they were in the house) and 2 blrw.

I cried and cried and swore NO MORE CHICKENS, but my DH talked me off the ledge. He said, "Now we know we have to do a better job of protecting them". He's a glass half full kind of guy. THANK GOD! Cause I've been having a glass half empty kind of year!

On a good note. I did get a quad of Bantam Partridge Cochin (originally from Jamie Matts). They are beautiful. I picked them up locally from someone getting out of chickens so they could travel more.

Here's a pic of the older Roo and Hen. I have 3 pullets as well. One of which looks darn near perfect. The roo's eye is weird in this picture, it's fine IRL.

I am headed to the Caribbean on Friday to recover from our year from hell.... knock wood!! Do something for you when you start to come out the other side.... I'll let you know if it really works in a few weeks
