Geez! I go to bed early one night and it has to be when all this candling is going on.
Sorry for the mixed results, Sonew. But since they were random eggs, maybe you just picked up the duds. Sounds great on the silkies!
Okay. I'm gonna confess. I candled on day three. (Dork, Dork, Dork!! I know...)
Anyway, can't see anything except what looks like clear eggs. I didn't have much hope since the age of the eggs was borderline, they had not been turned while waiting on me to get home from Duke. Two of the six were fresh, but they are porous, as is one of the others. I'm not even sure they are fertile because I've never hatched my own. Oh, yeah, and don't forget the cold temps they sat in before being gathered. I may get nothing from my girls' eggs! I know it's way early to even be looking and i should not have done it. But one or two would surely be nice. Two, please, so it won't be such a loud peeper. Lone chicks are pitiful. But at least it would give me a reason to buy some at
Tractor Supply...see, you can find a bright side to everything! Family thinks I'm losing my mind over these chicks anyway, just wait til I come home with a box from
TSC!!! And then I tell my hubby to put another level in the new bator cause I'm about to load it up with a BUNCH of eggs.
I need a 12 step program.
