For quick touch ups...I use the bleach wipes....I hatch using the turners...(off of course) and it kinda helps as well...I think I will do this last one...and stop a while....Let the ones that I have hatched start growing out....etc....Next hatch is going to be alot of Ameraucaunas..and hopefully I can get some standard cochins....if not...no biggie...I can always hatch again haha

Natalie...I have always wanted to ask...where or how did you get your Olive Egger?

Good morning Nat and Mary, how are you both today? It's still kind of chilly out Nat. I just went to the PO hoping my last shipment of eggs had arrived. Nope, not yet

I hate to wait another 2 1/2 days before setting. It's getting uncomfortably close to the 10 day mark at that point. I'm starting to rather seriously dislike the postal service these days. It was shipped on Tues from GA, so should have been here. Oh well, maybe I'll end up using both bators again. Didn't really want to, as I don't know what caused the death of so many babies at the same time in my LG. No dramatic spikes or drops in temps. If I knew what caused it, I could try and correct it. Never had this problem before. I'm hoping to get the front and back porches cleaned out and washed down today. Also need to build a portable run for my chickens. That darn eagle does a fly-by several times a day, checking to see if he can get to them.

Im trying to talk DH into please move the fencing panels to make a larger free-reange run for the chickens. I want an enclosed large run for when we are at work and on weekends let them totally have free range over property. Slowly I think he's understanding my idea-doesnt like it because theres alot of work with it:-(...

Mary - I lock down my next batch (silkies from swheat and melissa huddell) on Monday, sounds like your locking down then too! (I have others, MFC on day 6 and Silkies, day 4 and Buff Laced Polish on day 1)

Nat - I like the planting flowers in the tires idea.

But, I am originally from Tennessee, so your DH may have a point about the whole redneck thing!

I guess this is a staggered hatch!

Just set 21 OEs and Ameraucanas from onthespot. They were double boxed with padding between, so I have great hopes. I only had to tape 2 to the sides of the incubator!

Tires are good for growing potatoes as the plant grows stack on a tire and add more soil. It stays warm because of the tires. BTW

I have been dying for the last 2 with bronchitis. I'm a little better but I wish the nasty pygmy with the blow torch would get out of my lungs.
