I'd wait, but that's just me... Day 18 seems to be the general rule, but be ready.. you have 2 bators or 1? Automatic turner?

I have two bators, one has a turner and I use the other for hatching. I'll wait to move them till in the morning, that'll be day 18.

green polish? Very cool-Ill have to remember that one!

Well, that was the only color I could find that my DD must have left here. And it will stay on. I just chose the 4 that were liking me the best

haha I like that method! I have ( 7) 9-10 weekers in garage and I think 4 are pullets ( 2 EE's 1OE 1 poilsh) they scream for me when I walk into garage to feed and water. They have yet to venture outside with the big ones-they can they are skeered! I bend down and they stick their breasts in my hands for loving rubs:) They are so precious-I hope they are all girls!

Great news! How many days to go?

Oh Sem! I am so sorry!

I got a rescue o-shamo one time (through the wildlife shelter) that had the back of its head and neck stripped of skin. Covered it w/ silvadene and it made a full recovery. Blukote works really well, too.

Best of luck w/ your 'roo. If he lives through the shock I bet he'll make it just fine. Just keep it clean as you can and cover it with antiseptic. I am so sorry.

So sorry about your roo.
Keep the wound clean and if he makes it through the night he has a great chance. Chickens seem to have a great immune system and heal remarkably fast.

Have a sweet silkie that a raccoon got to. Ripped off her wing at the shoulder and a huge strip of skin from her neck to legs. I was sure she was doomed but she made it just fine, and is back laying daily!!!

So sorry about your roo Sem, hope he pulls through
