This is a very freaky looking bird! Check out the red eye shine. Stumbled across this on eggbig. A male Satyr Tragopan.

I can only keep hens. I hatched him from AHappychick's eggs in Feb!

We've decided to wait to set more mutt eggs till after Easter since we'll be out of town for 2 days. I had 1 baby die yesterday

, failure to thrive, and 1 I had to cull cause it's leg was messed up

. Other than that all my babies are doin great

and sis got 5 Delaware babies Sunday

that are in my brooder now too. I'll probably split them into 2 brooders tomorrow

. I also put my 3 week olds out in the grow-out tractor Sunday, with my Silkies, they're all getting along great

. The Silkies new coop will be done this week, so they'll be moving soon

. Wishing everbody that's already started the next hatch very good luck

So... ((lifts up her bangs)) can you see it?? Can you?? it says SUCKER!!!! So I stopped at TSC and there were little pullets with pasty butt and I'm like... "you do realize you have to clean that off or they'll die right?" ((Insert drooling store clerk here)) "No really if they aren't cleaned it's like a bowel obstruction and they die" ((more drool)). So, there I am... in TSC in Massena... on my lunch break, carying chicks into the bathroom and de-pasting them. And throwing them in a box... and taking them home... SHOOT ME. Can anyone show me a good link to feather sexing reds? I THINK I got pullets, my luck they'll all be roos

So, I have 10 out of 12 EEggers, 1 Buff brahma (only fertile out of a doz) and 3 B/B/S Cochin eggs (from my quad) going into lockdown tonight. Yay, its been a wholllllleeeee 2 weeks since I have had anything hatch. I am going through hatching withdrawals. Just in time for Easter.

Hope the babies make it to you safe and sound.

I am eying the coronation auction.....hmmmmmm. Should I?

The babies you save usually become your favorite. My hubby saved a partridge rock baby a couple of weeks ago, it got stuck in its egg all night (the goo dried), and he spent almost an hour unpeeling it in the morning. My hubby is currently watching tv holding a baby chick named crybaby that NEVER shuts up when you put it down.

He told me a couple of days ago that he wanted to keep her, lol.
