My son is trying very hard right now to convince me that nutty bars are the same nutrition wise as muffins
thereby excusing the fact that the child had nutty bars for breakfast, and not get into trouble
I'm debating whether I should let him get away with it or not. On the chicken front. Let's see, my stupid ex finally came last friday, and built 1/2 of 1 coop (supposed to be 3 total). Haven't seen or heard from him since
It's been over 2 months since he agreed to build them in leiu of the back child support he owes me. Putz. Most guys would be thrilled to be in his situation, open visitation, doesn't have to provide insurance or pay anything towards medical (which is very expensive with my sons problems), I've been very lenient in regards to child support. He didn't even pay support for the first 5 years after I left. He owns his own construction business, so he pays me "when he has it". He's over a year behind. So I offered him a deal. Build the 3 new coops I need. When he came on friday (after I put my foot down), he acted like I was inconveniencing him. And I'm getting to the point where I'm wondering if it's even worth keeping the roosters. It's so difficult on me and the girls. There are too many roosters out there in 1 coop. Several of them are locked up in isolation, to keep them from fighting and over-mating the girls. Wouldn't have been a problem if the coops had been built when the ex had agreed to build them, but after 2 months of juggling, with no end in sight, I'm ready to throw in the towel on breeding, and just keep the girls. It's not fair to the hens, the roosters, or my family and me to keep this up. AND, the no new coops issue also means that I have no place to put the babies in the brooder, and they have to be out of there by this weekend, cuz the new chicks are due to be born this weekend. My EE rooster that took over as head rooster has started ganging up with my silkie roo to beat up 1 of my older girls. And I'm still fighting the bumblefoot issue with this same girl. I'm just so disgusted with the whole chicken issue right now, I'm ready to give up on it all. Get rid of my bantams cuz nobody wants to buy bantam eggs, get rid of the roosters, and just keep my LF layer hens. At least I can sell those eggs. I'm on vacation this week, it's supposed to be upper 70's today, and I'm miserable. This sucks.
of the 4 of 18 mfc that made it to lockdown, none have hatched (today is day 23)
but
of the 8 of 8 silkies from ultra1classic that made it to lockdown, two were out and about this morning, 3 more eggs have pips (today if officially day 21)

I just don't get men sometimes. Especially men that have children and don't pay child support. The law should be after him!
