if you want to check for blood vessels, wet a q-tip and then use this to wet that white membrane. you'll be able to see if any blood vessels are in the way and active.

I was doing some poking around regarding what other breeds can be feather sexed- apparently orpingtons, cochins and light brahmas.
in these, all males have really short wing and tail feathers sprouting but the females are much longer. this person showed pictures at 11 days old and said this holds true until they reach and age to see waddles etc.
I found it under the beemaster forums.

GET BACK! orpingtons too??? cochins too?? light brahmas! I have all of those! dang it! I have 13 in bator hatching out next weekend so I need to know how to sex those buggers! Whats a beemaster?

I have a flock of light Brahmas and Cochins. Am hatching many others!! This could be SOO awesome!
