I sympathize. I have tried and tried to teach the dogs to drive, but they have such trouble reaching the gas and break pedals..........

In that case I would say you need to selectively breed for longer legged dogs. The chickens have enough toes and a beak...the are just stubborn.

Well, that isn't really an option because I show in the conformation ring. But thanks for the suggestion!

this pic is when she was in her prime - she is currently old and very ill

Yes I can see where longer legs would ruin things for blue ribbons in confirmation but think of taller jumps and faster agility finishing times due to longer stride

I have an Aussie myself. His name is "In Like Flynn". Flynn for short or flunky, funky, stop it!, etc.

That is all very neat! I thought about agility all of about 5 seconds then realized not only the dog needs to be in shape and I don't mean the general shape of round!

Flynn rounds up my chickens for me and leaves the geese alone. They removed a patch or two of dog hair to make their point.

You have gorgeous babies. I am sure you are pleased as punch with them. I know I would be!!

Believe me, you don't have to be in really good shape, though it helps. I'm a fairly broken down 50 and can still 'run' a dog - but the dog does most of the running, not me. I used to be built for speed, but not any more!

And thank you for the compliment on the pups. I just adore them.

I asked a whole bunch of sellers that did not state if their birds were feather shanked or not and did not have legs in the pictures.
This seller is the only one who responded that the legs were clean.
I think she may have got the French bit wrong. I think the English BCM's are the ones without feathered shanks. I Would just double check with her if you are thinking of getting them.
