I need to sell some chicks.
The brooders have been banned from the house to the garage now. They are only there at all because DH like the $50 per weekend my DD gets from selling chicks!!
Shame there is no chicken stock equivalent around here.

maybe you should get one started (do you have tractor supply or an equivilent out there?)
I post mine up on craigslist and always with a picture- they sell like crazy.

Chicken food comes from the local tack store (Mary's tack and feed). I think most of their business in chick food is from people who got chicks from me!!
I have an add up there but they really are not big on chickens.
Craigs list is how mine get rehomed but selling them dominates the whole W/E with no-shows and people coming for 1 chick, and take an hour deciding which one is most likley to be female

don't you hate that- so long to pick. I have now gotten to the point that if they call and want 2 of a certain color, I bring out 4 of that color not all that I have. I just sold some solid colored wyandottes that I won on ebay- the lady wanted 1 wyandotte color unknown so I brought out 2 blacks, 1 silver laced and 1 blue. I already figured the blue would be the one, it was really pretty but I gave her the choice without bringing out 4 blacks, 1 white, 2 blues,1 goldish thingy- odd color- pretty bad case of ugliees so will have to grow it out until it gets beautiful.

That sound like a good plan.
I will need to try it.

I'm here, just been busy with the horses lately. And I'd like to build a nice pen for the silkies but I'm so tired all the time. And I need to build a bigger enclosed pen for my big coop, but I'm too tired. And today, again, I have 11 juniors that eat more feed than 21 chickens. Must be the crow. How do I outsmart a crow? Maybe I need an enclosed pen around that coop too.

Funny thing. At the barn my horses are at, there's a large group of pre teens/.teens that all hang out together. One came today and her father sat with the barn owner to gab. Barn Owner said that a girl having a horse is a great insurance policy (boys, etc etc) -keeps them out of trouble. The girl's father replied that he loved this place because there are no boys with their pants sagging and their underwear showing. I had a good laugh.
