Blessed, hope everything goes well and the IV antibiotics do their work.

My dad had surgery today for repair of an aortic abdominal aneurism, and he's fixed! He's 74 and this was his first stay in a hospital!!!! What a guy!

Here's my hatch update, 20 JG's , 4 out under a silkie. 16 in the bator, and 5 have def. developement. I don't know about the eggs under the silkie, but she's been real good sitting.

Hopefully it's just too early to tell, and I'll candle on day 10.

Mary, I would take sulfadimethoxine over any other med for cocci.
I'm thinking you could have done a number of things to maybe bring it in to them, I mean, for example, my chicken shoes are out on the patio. I go out, then come in, and take my shoes off, and let's say I take care of some chicks after that. Well I could have touched some dirt on my shoes taking them off. It could be that simple. We've had alot of rain, right? And some warm weather.

And I had 3 chicks that got it, but they were outside. And all 3 are what I'd call slow growers, they just aren't as big as the others. Maybe cocci does damage in some way, hopefully they'll catch up.

Within 15 minutes... boom 9 chicks gone. They're picking them up tomorrow. Many are roos and they're giving me 3 bucks each. Not shabby. That will get me another 50 pounds of feed. I'm going to be so sad, but it's necessary.

Awesome but so freaking sad... as "hope" turned out to be "henry" he will be going as well as 2 of the BR crosses I hatched... They all look up at me when I feed them with trust in their eyes. I feel so guilty

aw hunny it sucks I know been though it a bunch already:-( But what keeps me smiling is the chicks I do get to keep and spoil!!!
